Safeguarding
Safeguarding & child protection
A safe place, above all else.
Every member of staff has a personal, non-delegable duty to act immediately on any concern about a child’s welfare — a duty that takes precedence over every other consideration.
Our safeguarding commitments
- The welfare of the child is paramount in every decision.
- Allegations against staff go to the LADO — never an internal investigation.
- We work in genuine multi-agency partnership across Manchester.
- Information is shared by the seven golden rules: necessary, proportionate, secure.
- Staff are trained, supervised, and protected when they raise concerns.
"If in doubt, refer." — Working Together to Safeguard Children
Notice & keep safe
Any concern is acted on the same day. Where a child is at immediate risk, the police are called first on 999.
Report to the DSL
The Registered Manager is the Designated Safeguarding Lead, with authority to refer without seeking approval from above.
Record on OV Care
Factual, contemporaneous entries, clearly separating direct observation, information received and professional opinion.
Refer & notify
Children's social care, the placing authority's social worker, and — for notifiable events — Ofsted within 24 hours.
Our promise
Treated with the dignity every family deserves.
Many parents who come to us carry their own histories of adversity — and have never had the experience of being safely parented themselves. We meet them with curiosity and empathy, not judgement. A parent who feels safe, understood and fairly treated can show who they really are. That is when an assessment reflects the truth.
